Fic: The World in a Grain of Sand (Pitch/Sandy, NC17 overall)
As I’ve not been well enough to string two coherent thoughts together, I came up with a plan for another Quicksand Week contribution that wouldn’t require more than one at a time (with thanks to 1sentence on LiveJournal, thismightyneed, and the entire 8000 Blacksand AUs tag for inspiration).
This isn’t quite 8000 AUs, but I’m hoping 60 is enough, and if you think you recognise an AU of yours in here, you are almost certainly right.
Some fluff, some silliness, some violence, some death, some smut and some surrealism can all be found within, and I really, really hope you all enjoy it.

Very rough art, but I didn’t feel like going into the deepest detail with this one.
Okay, explanation time: My brain pretty much went “fuck it” at some point, and turned to “weird? I’ll give you fucking weird!”
So, I give you… Another Proto Pitch and proto Sandman!
Sandman’s design is based on the concept art by Ryan O’Loughlin. He has a very… happy uncle kind of look to him. He could have been an interesting sight for sure, but… yeah. I doubt we’d have any black or quicksand if that were the case <.<
And I’m not joking about Pitch! He’s on the Holiday DVD, though there’s probably an image of him floating somewhere online. I don’t know who did the drawing of him, but it has a very William Joyce-like look to it.
Either way, I saw that particular Pitch, and all I could think was: “that could have either been very awesome… or we could have had another Dennis Hopper in Water World.”
In the doodle below, Pitch is saying “well no prompts has to be endlessly cheerful.” Make of that what you will.

the shadow monster concept art just was the start of the thing
if they interaction and actitud towards each other would have been and implied story the same than in the movie, I very likely would have shipped them sorry i’m weird and like weird things and they do still look pretty handsome come on!

Well…Pitch has a lot of dangerous personality traits/behaviors in the first three parts that were going to prove symptomatic of larger problems.
