What do you think Tamatoa's relationship with his grandmother was like? I know he ate her, obvi, but do you think it was out of anger or self defense? Did they have a falling out?
while I’m totally into the hc that tamatoa doesn’t mind eating lesser beings such as kakamoras or other creatures and I kind of think the same from maui, I like to think that eating your recent deceased is just how giant coconut crabs culture rolls
I imagine that tama’s grandma as the classic huge matriarch type of lady, very scary and serious, but that was strangely nice with her smaller family, not the type to spoil but the type that ask for you to come next to her, kinda pat you in the head/face, hand you some candies and send you away. A weird type of tenderness that Tama was alright with and liked, I think he probably miss her a bit
I think he probably was somewhere between teenhood and adulthood when the incident happen, also, she would be proud that he is using this to strike fear in the heart of his preys before eating them

Vidrine-Zahn-Daant, or just Vi for short, he is Father Abner’s ex, Vi is basically, a wormhole entity, he and Abner meet back in the day after the whole spanish inquisition deal in which our sun-boss went traveling through planes and space basically, they were very dreamy and though it would be a forever thing….until Vi got the godly equivalent to a promotion before Abner, so he broke it off when Vi offer him to serve under his pantheon basically, because Abner works under NOBODY’S RULE EXCEPT HIMSELF
…anyways, it all was good in the end because he was up to meet his real true love in the Dark Planet later on
We will see more of him at my eventual comic of course

finally made @calicot-zc tamatoa clothes switch with mine, I really like her version and I keep thinking that hers and mine would get along really nice or at least take way more time to start annoying each other anyways, I loved drawing her tama’s outfit, it look just great!!!

Just becuase he learned to brush his hair and accessoring correctly, doesn’t mean my tamatoa stoped being a messy dude, but he probably just let himself chill like this in very rare times, probably one or two lazy days from time to time

I basically imagine him being a complete mess teen back in the day, since I imagine Lalotai as this society with concious monsters not just tamatoa, but also still as savage as when everybody was trying to eat Moana, so lil’ Tama probably acted more aggresive and wild on that age, is no easy growing up in the realm of the monsters
