I think that for real, one of the moments that hurts me the most in almost any story is that one moment in which the villain must reaffirm what a monster they have become or actually been all along by betraying or killing their right hand/family member/best friend/lover that has been extremely loyal to them for the whole time, specially when that right hand is refusing to follow them on their madness, pride and rage trip because whatever the villain currently want to do would hurt more their plan than help them to win for real
