Making lovecraftian style creatures is fun but hard to pinpoint what you want, anyways, here is HELEN!….or at least some of the draws I have tried to make to represent her, I feel I getting closer to the ONE idea tho

as I have mentioned before, she is Father Abner’s “mom“, tho that’s a strench of the term, is more of a frankenstein and creature kind of deal, becuase honestly, Abner is not even sure Helen is his motherly creator, he just think she might be becuase she and her other kids resemble him (they neither know if she might be their mother) they as a whole just FEEL she might be, BUT then again, all suns resemble each other, so they can’t really tell, being a sun is kinda awful on that sense at The County

Helen doesn’t speaks or try communicating with her kids in any particular helpful way about that; abner and all his sister visit her sometimes to make sort of “family bonding time“ around her, picnic stuff, just passing time around, throwing stuff  inside her that they gotta dispose of, etc family stuff

Also, Helen is not her real name, thats the name Abner started calling her and have made some of his sisters use too, some have their own names for her

“//The Dark Monolith sounds interesting. And if you need some cool…”

Oooo it’s beautiful! I’m curious tho, originally the Dark Planet and The Smiling God (I believe those are the names in the thing) were (obscure) characters in Welcome to Nightvale. I’ve never listened, just know stuff from my friend. I know you OCified Father Abner (congrats on that by the way) so are these characters in At The Unearthly County, is that yours now? Like I said I’ve never listened to the podcast so I can’t tell.

oh yeah, the characters originally started as my interpretation of how those beings might have look at the show, you see, on WtNV we never actually got a description of the smiling god besides “brighter than the sun“ and “unraveling of the universe”, so all his imagen is purely mine; DP on the other hand, was described as vision of this weird…dark planet lit by no sun, so yeah, it was exactly that

After how they end up the whole desert bluffs/strex crop arc, I no longer cared about the show, but I cared about my version of the smiling god and dark planet have become, so I decided adopting them as OCs becuase, anyways, they already were that, I doubted that if the show presented them as real things or characters, they would in fact look like how I made them looking!

they are now characters at my eventual comic of At The Unearthly County, parents of my kid Sunday, they still keep some of trails they had when I made them according to WtNV but they are just mine now, they have their own stuff and personality going on

“I made @halfys‘s tamatoa and mine switching styles, at first it was a…”

Omg this is so precious. You’re so great and it’s absolutely fantastic to see how different we all represent our own Tamatoa version ✨ Yours is definitely so awesome.

aw man! thank you!! and yeah, is so interesting seeing all the way we perceive the character and how that woudl be traslate as a person or humanoid figure, I always have lot of fun doing that!
