This, absolutely. When I ran a Harley Quinn blog that split her from Joker, I received some of the most distressing anger because I didn’t recognize their “love”. (I seriously wish I was shitting when I say “consensual abuse” and “consensual rape” were presented as arguments.)
Jasper does not have agency in the Malachite fusion. She doesn’t want to stay fused, she actively was struggling against it, and just like Harley I twitch when I see that situation given the 50 Shades treatment—and like 50 Shades, labeled as something it’s not: Sane, Safe, Consensual. Come back when the ship practices that and then and only then do we have a deal. :T Otherwise I am side-eying the crap out of you.

and then proceed to sympathize with the abuser character and call the
abuse victim who was grabbed physically twice, locked away in a prison cell, and actively

Jasper and Peridot are soldiers apparently under “Yellow Diamond”. They are approaching Earth from a military standpoint, not as a personal relationship. Why was Lapis locked up? It’s an interesting question. Was she caught sending the signal in The Message? Or was it because she was suspected of involvement with Rose’s movement after it was clear she knew about Steven? That is a reasonable precaution, if so. You seem to be trying to judge them based on the Crystal Gems, the “good guys”, but you can’t, because they’re commanded by the Homeworld and don’t recognize the things that the Crystal Gems stand for. It was a defensive measure. You may as well call the Crystal Gems’ handling of the corrupted gems “abuse” in that case.
Lapis wasn’t afraid of Jasper. Jasper was just a grunt with an attitude. Lapis was afraid of the ones Jasper was reporting to. Lapis was afraid of the
“Diamond Authority”.
Jasper had every opportunity to be a real sadist if she wanted. She could have tortured, killed, what have you. She didn’t. She neutralized Garnet by unfusing her, not killing her, apparently not harming her, and those unfusing weapons seemed to be a standard security measure, not a personal weapon, since Peridot tried to use one when she was in danger. Jasper could have crushed those helpless unfused gems. Instead, she completed her mission in the most coldly effective way possible and the only thing she did was yell at Sapphire to stop singing. Even when Garnet challenged her, she tried to unfuse Garnet again.
I am not condoning Jasper for grabbing Lapis to drag her forward, or keeping her from escaping at the end, although the latter makes sense if she is suspected of helping traitors to the Homeworld. But neither of those are sexual abuse, which is what some art has been suggesting under tags that involve safe, sane, consensual play.
Jasper asked Lapis to fuse, offering a chance at revenge that she was sure Lapis would want to take. No threats. Fusions can’t be forced. Lapis agreed. And then Lapis proceeded to take Jasper prisoner. I personally found that excessive because there was no earthly way Jasper was still a threat at that point, but there you have it. She took her prisoner, supposedly forever or as long as she could hold the fusion, you know, the same thing Lapis condemned the Crystal Gems for doing to her all those years ago.
Rebecca Sugar has remarked she does not like the ultimate villain/ultimate hero tropes. This is another example of that. Lapis was not a beautiful cinnamon roll in this situation any more than Jasper ever was, but it was Jasper who said “no” and Lapis who did it anyway.
And even that still isn’t the same as taking someone who is saying “no” and then sexually assaulting them to “teach them a lesson”. Jasper was not an abuser in that situation, but the shit in that fanart sure as hell makes LAPIS out to be one.

at first I though about drawing Garnet with a gakuran like she use in those promo draws from the SU crew, but at some point I though about those kindergarden uniforms the kiddies use and couldn’t resist you guys!!!!
