can’t say much more of them really, they are just wicked happy beach couple, I originally was gonna put Briney as your average navy captain, but thats basically the anti-pirate so thats a no, and I had already given the cup family the whole sailors motif, so he gets to relax on the beach with bae now!
Cala is just a beach girl that should know better about doing her full make up and do knowing very well that once she get hit by a wave, she gonna look like the swamp thing, but maybe thats just how she likes it
Hey! is Sally Stageplay & her boo! probably the most peculiar of all entries since is a full on reversal!
I didn’t knew what to actually do with Sally when I started the series as a whole, similar problem I had with characters such as hilda back in the day, but at least hilda had elements taht coudl still be translate to tsomething, sally had just herself to be draw with accurate hair/fashion, which is fun but not THAT fun, so I though, since these two are the only full on normal people of the game, why not try the whole reversal niche! so welcome Sally Stagelight and husband!

Beppi is still pretty much himself becuase CLOWNS! Djimmi was a another whole story tho, I didn’t wanted to just make him a common dude on motif costume, so I half based him on magicians fashion of the times as well in Korla Pandit, given Djimmi’s egyptian and arabic style, tho in case of him, he is not pretending!
I’ve went through all of @thismightyneed humanized designs of the Cuphead characters and I wanna say…I AM MADLY IN LOVE WITH THEIR STYLE LIKE OMFG THEY LOOK SO GOOD!! You did an amazing job at capturing the characters personaltiea and expressions!! Anyway I tried (keyword is “tried”) to replicate their style by drawing my OC Fran McFox as humanized as possible (using Baroness Von Bon Bon’s design as style reference). She’ll be the tough, strong sheriff of Inkwell who takes her job very seriously when the bad guys gets a bit too rowdy. Fran works at a wild west themed area of Isle 2, but lives in a small cozy house in Isle 3. She does however have a soft motherly side for young children, and acts like a bubbly goofball around her friends and loved ones.
