headcanons of sandman and pitch black -no need to read-
Since this promt is getting filled, I decide to just already put my headcanon of Sandmann and Pitch Gold, but before that I wanna explain something about my own headcanon of Pitch and Sandy, since I not exactly roll with the book versions since the movie is not really all that much of adaptacion but more like an alternative version of the basic idea
with Sandy I gotta say I really can’t say I have made my mind in his exact origin, but I pretty much fine with him being in a similar situation like Jack, you know, once human but later being made the representative spirit of dreams itself or either being a supernatural thing since all the start (he could have come into existence when the first human dreamed) (sorry guys, but I don’t really like all that much when people mix together science, magic and techno-magic, it just weird for me, either this is all about aliens and human believing are magic stuff or all magic stuff being just magicals)
Now my longer headcanon (and horrible boring explanation) of Pitch Black, here I gotta say first that, I hardly can see Pitch like a real villain (book!pitch on other hand, heck he is a bastard, I can’t mentally put them as the same character) Pitch is more like a “dragon” type character, the kind of guy the heroes fight before going against the real big bad, but in this case, he is supposedly to be the big bad
In the movie, I really prefer the idea of him being specifically created for the activity of giving fear and doing as people say “if you can’t do what you love, then you gotta love what you do”, since the starts of humanity, working next to Sandman (I like to think they both are here since the very first start, you know, the two faces of the same coin) (personality, this make it even sadder how he was treated in the movie) (because lets face it people, pitch isn’t fear itself in any way, is not even the “guardian” or keeper of fear for real, at least not while weak maybe, but yeah, never fear itself)
(pd: this is sort of what i think when I do anything mine of rotg, when i reading the works or seeing the arts of others, I roll with what they give me)
