Pitch’s shrug was tight, controlled, forcibly nonchalant. Sandy tsked and placed a small hand over his. “You don’t need to pretend with me. That’s not how this relationship works. And I can’t help you if you’re always hiding from me, can I?”
Pitch let out a long, shuddering breath, but he relaxed, the tension bleeding out of his shoulders. Sandy patted his hand reassuringly. “Why are you upset, Pitch?”
