I think they do amazing as family, is just mostly Ferdinand overreacting most times having in mind his current age, but he love his family and even the always there company of the guardians, he is just still too young and uncomfortable, what a cutie dork

I don’t think that spirits with the jobs of daily dreams making and fear inducing would really have vacations, I guess when they have free time, is mostly relaxing and being together

I imagine that teaching Ferdinand about all the things of spirit world and the dream making is a really great way of bonding since is quite a limitless subject on both things, also Ferdinand ocassionally discovering particular modern stuff he take interest into and subtlely trying to involve his parents into without saying a word is a great thing too (then again, is Jack the one that also introduce Ferdinand to many things of the new age)

as for traditions, going to the venice carnival and the apokreas, they also enjoy walking around humans on new year celebrations!

Gold pretty much like anything that is totally soulfull sung from classical to modern music like pop or electro, but he also enjoy the sound of nature and silent by itself, Ferdinand does share this whole musical appreciation with him even if he doesn’t admit being that into

Sandmann like music of strings instruments, but once electro started to be a thing, he have has a weird facination for it and for the dance type, they like waltz the most  or medieval music with they according typical dances

Gold at first arrive to Sandmann’s place to find baby Ferdinand basically wrapped to one of the many nest/beanbag chairs Sandmann has all around there and is super angry at him, because believes he is not taking proper care of their new baby! he then take him from it and goes to give Sandmann one hell of a speech about it when baby Ferdinand start floating away from Gold’s arms

Gold should give Sandmann more credit about this whole deal

Sandmann was The Moon’s first spirit created, technically his son, who made and controled both dreams and nightmares since the beggining. Gold used to be a horse breeder and sailor back then, on one of his voyages after offering horses to Poseidon things didn’t turned as how should have and he was cast into the waters for his offences to the God, The Moon granted him a second chance as spirit and was when he met Sandmann, they started a teacher and apprentice relationship before falling in love, but time still was passing while on that, and the new era was at the corner, Sandmann grew worried of people forgetting spirits more every passing day, so he used his powers to make sure they would remember, The Moon and Sandmann fighted about it and it end up in The Moon sinking him in the ocean and taking away his powers, but since Sandmann never was a human in first stance, he didn’t lost all his powers and fell asleep at the bottom of the ocean, The Moon gave his rank to Gold, who understood the situacion and that humans needed dreams, but was regretful and missed Sandmann, so he sang to the ocean until the day he would come back
